The Taylor Morris Shack.
“The Bluebird” is a bit of a summer mecca for any West Londoner. Sunny courtyard, beautifully elegant restaurant or laidback café, deli, and that is before you get to The Shop at Bluebird that stocks lifestyle products and fashion brands like Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garçons, Victoria Beckham and Marni.
It therefore was no surprise that London-based sunglasses brand, Taylor Morris, decided on the Chelsea location for its latest retail venture. But rather than finding it in The Shop, ready to dress the faces of the chic Kings Road shoppers, the brand has marked its first standalone space within the courtyard: The Taylor Morris Shack.
“With the team not only living but mainly hailing from London, it’s natural that we would look to the capital to launch our first ever stand-alone pop-up,” the brand said as the doors opened. Based in nearby Knightsbridge, the Taylor Morris team designed and constructed the shack that they say “embodies the Taylor Morris lifestyle; classic with a bohemian edge.”
In a subtle pale blue, the beach hut-style building houses the impressive Taylor Morris collection, which has been going from strength to strength in both design and desirability since its launch only a three years ago. The concept of entrepreneurs Hugo Taylor and Charlie Morris, the brand offers cutting-edge design with meticulous attention to detail, and recently an achingly cool collaboration with the Morgan Motor Company.
The Taylor Morris pop-up is open 7 days a week throughout May and June, visit it at Bluebird Chelsea, 350 King’s Rd, London SW3 5UU
