NYC Mikael Jack

NYC.

The city that never sleeps has no end of iconic landmarks and symbols, but while the thrill of seeing the Statue of Liberty and that unmistakeable skyline on the final descent from the air and stepping into the first yellow cab at the airport will – for most – never get old, we look to the endless inspiration that the city offers to shape our work.

With a base in NYC, we are able to appreciate the city and its appeal to all those with an eye for design, as well as its undeniable status as a retail mecca.

Brooklyn’s growing design community and the burgeoning South Street Seaport – which has already attracted the biggest names in retail, entertainment and culture – is soon to welcome a new branch of the critically-acclaimed restaurant Jean-Georges and Milan’s aspirational 10 Corso Como boutique, making the area even more desirable than it’s become in the last few years. Fifth Avenue’s flagships and department store megaliths will easily consume your time – and credit card limits. Soho and the West Village’s pop-ups and boutiques are enough in choice and creativity to steal away even more time and are a wealth of inspiration.

And that is all before we even get to the art galleries, the coffee shops, the everywhere-you-turn-is-a-film-set scenery and architecture. A weekend in NYC barely scratches the surface, as this video from one of our recent trips shows.
