eyedoo pops up in Marylebone.
At sfd, we love glasses. We love well-designed, high-quality, affordable, easy-to-buy glasses even more – that’s why we love the new wave of optometry retailers who are offering an all-in-one online service, like Ace & Tate, who we profiled last month.
For this reason, we are excited about the new kid on the block, eyedoo, who have just launched a pop up in Marylebone to coincide with their site launch. Their model is familiar now, a choice of frames with coated, anti-reflective prescription lenses included, with a home trial available and delivered straight to your letter box once you have placed your order.
Where eyedoo differs? They offer this for £49 – and £75 for polarised lens prescription sunglasses – and 5% of all sales is donated to Vision Care, a charity that helps homeless people receive eye care that would otherwise be unavailable, in a safe environment that they feel comfortable and welcome.
eyedoo is the brainchild of Bob Forgan, an optical innovator with over 40 years’ experience in the global optical industry. The brand offers a wide range of frames designed in-house in England, an experienced prescription lens service and fast ordering, which even includes a unique next day delivery option – perfect for those unfortunate times when your glasses end up on your chair, under you. The innovative virtual 3D try-on service allows you to visualise the frames on your face (we tried this at the pop-up and it is surprisingly accurate) as well as the at-home trial service.
The Marylebone pop-up, situated in the 118 year old station, is open until 30 March and stocks the full range of glasses and sunglasses. With antique cases juxtaposing with the modern designs and 3D try-on technology, it is a great opportunity to experience the brand and place an order.
Visit eyedoo at Marylebone Station, London, until 30 March 2017 and use the exclusive code ’#eyedoo’ at eyedoo.co.uk for 10% off any order until 30 April 2017.
