Oliver Hugh Perry, more commonly known now as D.D Dumbo, is an Australian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist.
He first appeared on the scene with with his Tropical Oceans EP at the tail end of 2014. Two years later, Perry is back with a new album, Utopia Defeated, and leading the list of winners of the prestigious J Awards, a renowned Australian industry award that celebrates the best music talent in the country, with the likes of Tame Impala, Gotye and Chet Faker all being past winners. Perry is now preparing to set off on tour, with a string of live dates throughout June including two headline shows in London.
His sound is incredibly striking and thought provoking, both in its vision and quality. The lyrics discuss serious issues that are on his mind, including animal rights and the welfare of the earth. He recently moved from the bustling metropolis of Melbourne to a solar-powered studio near his small hometown of Castlemaine. A unique style of music, and something that we will hear a lot more of in the coming months and years.
